Bruce Lee fans, rejoice! A film series about the martial art expert's life is in the works after his siblings gave the project a green light.

Phoebe and Robert Lee have authorised a trilogy about the late martial arts star, which will focus on providing fans with an authoritative narrative of his life, reports contactmusic.com.

Lee's brother and sister hope the new movies will clear up mistakes prevalent in other biographical accounts, as Robert announced the news at a ceremony in China on Monday to mark the 36th anniversary of Lee's death in 1973.

"We've read many books and seen many movies about Bruce Lee, but there are many inaccuracies in them," he said.

The first film will focus on Lee's teenage years, according to the film's producer Manfred Wong.

"There will be Kung Fu, but more importantly, we want to portray the real Bruce Lee. What is the real Bruce Lee like? He was very humorous. He was very obedient to his parents. He was very kind to his family," Wong said.
