Kangana Ranaut is one lucky girl. While most Bollywood hotties are spending millions to get the prefect pout by going under the knife, all Ranaut has to do is eat a certain type of prawn. Rubbishing the rumours about her lip surgery she told a leading daily, "Every time I eats it, my lips swell up to an eminently pout-worthy size."
And while all this happens her stunning face remains as radiant as ever. Try and probe her bit further and she says angrily, "Yeah, you will hear that I’ve got my lips, my b**bs, my a**, all plumped up. But all those people who say that, don’t realise what it is to get such a drastic thing done, especially when you are that young, and don’t even have the time for it.”
And after a pause, she had added, “Though, right now, I don’t know how many tucks and surgeries I will need when I’m old.”
The 22-year-old actress says that balancing controversies, heartbreaks and career has not been an easy ride but insists that she has learnt her lessons. She believes single women shouldn’t be allowed to marry, unless they earn enough to sustain a family.
“Women — teens, single, married, mothers — should fight ill-treatment by the opposite sex then and there, to avoid a similar experience again. In metros girls are very independent, conscious and aware. But in the interiors of our country where education is not given importance, they continue to be oppressed,” she says.
Serious talk from someone who insists she’s too young.
“Well, I’m still too young, you see,” she insists. “I’ve never said I didn’t want to be an actor. I wanted to, but knew it’s not a cakewalk. Acting is not MBBS — there are no textbooks, no written tests that you can sit for, excel in and get a degree. In the film industry, there’s no rulebook. In fact, before an exam, one knows what one has missed reading, and should have known, to get the right marks. Here, you don’t even know if you’re going wrong!”
When she became a known face, there were discussions on how ‘small town girls’ have made it big in B-town, probing her background, her home town in Himachal... “Let people say whatever they wish to. It’s a beautiful place,” she explains

In real life her marital status may still be single, but a fake certificate prepared here suggests that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif is the better half of local BJP MLA Ramesh Mendola.
A marriage certificate approved by Indore Municipal Corporation claims that the 24-year-old actress married the local MLA on December 2, 2008 and got the same registered with the civic body on December 11 the same year.
"The marriage certificate is totally fake and was not issued by the municipal body. It must be an act of some mischievous persons," IMC marriage registrar Dr Natwar Sarda told reporters.
"It appears that somebody first scanned the IMC marriage certificate and then with the help of some software showed the bollywood actress and MLA as husband and wife," Sarda said.

He does a full monty in Madhur Bhandarkar's upcoming movie Jail, but Neil Nitin Mukesh insists the nude scenes won't distract any mother because the narrative is high on emotional quotient.
"I was asked to strip down completely and the only question before doing the scene that I had in mind was - what would be my parents' reaction when they watch the film? Would they be ashamed of me as their son? But I think they'll be extremely proud of me as an actor to have gone ahead and done it with a lot of courage," said Neil.
"In fact, no mother sitting in the audience will be distracted with the skin show in the film. My character Parag Dixit is extremely high on emotional quotient and people are going to be attached to that. I don't want anybody to notice the body in that scene and if someone still gets distracted, then probably he or she is not yet connected to the character," added the 27-year-old.
But wasn't he apprehensive about going full monty?
"There was a slight hesitation initially in the sense that I was a bit shy in terms of taking off the clothes, thinking it was for a billion people. But I was confident that Madhur sir will handle it with a lot of grace and dignity, which he has," said the young actor who debuted in an unconventional role in Johnny Gaddar.
Co-produced by Percept Picture Company and Bhandarkar Entertainment, Jail is the hard-hitting yet sensitive tale of an ordinary man who finds himself inside a prison due to a series of unfortunate events.
Releasing Nov 6, it also stars Manoj Bajpai in a pivotal role with Mugdha Godse in the female lead.
Asked about the controversy over the nude scene, Neil said, "I won't say it is blown out of proportion. It deserves the attention it has been getting because it is for the first time that an actor has gone ahead and done something like this. Though that was not the motive behind it; it was to actually project what really happens inside a jail.
"And it's a reality-based film, so we wanted to portray and show everything that actually happens with jail inmates. This is one of the most important, crucial and initial procedures that one really goes through in a jail.
"We couldn't take that off and go a step ahead because people who are law-abiding or have studied law and belong to the system would obviously know this is one process that has been completely ignored," he explained.
The actor, who was last seen in the hit movie New York, also had to get rid of his muscular body for the role in Jail.
"When I came back after doing New York, I was in the greatest shape of my life. But when I met Madhur, he told me to lose all my muscle and get into the character of Parag Dixit and leave Neil Nitin Mukesh aside," he said.
Not many know that the four-film-old actor tried his hand at the "method-acting approach" for the film.
"I adopted the method-acting approach for Jail because otherwise I wouldn't have identified with the character. Somewhere on the screen it would have faltered and looked rehearsed. I didn't want to prepare at all before I did the scenes," he said.
"In fact, I asked Madhur sir to shoot the film in a chronological order from first to last and that's what he has done, so that I could live the life of Parag Dixit and the graph could grow that way," he added.
Neil's future projects include films with Pradeep Sarkar and Abbas-Mustan while his Tera Kya Hoga Johnny is waiting to roll out.

As far as Govinda is concerned, all bets are off. The out-there actor is capable of anything. And this latest khabar from the sets of Abbas Mustan's maiden production, Life Partner, didn't surprise us at all. Really!
The guestIt all began one day on the sets in Mumbai. The actor had a surprise guest that day. What's the big deal? This guest 'spoke' only to Chi Chi and was 'seen' only by him and his brother Kirti (who probably does it to humour his star brother).Says a source present on the sets, "As usual, Govinda came in pretty late. During one of the breaks, the actor was chatting with a group, when suddenly his brother's car came and halted in front of him. Kirti Kumar stepped out, opened the door to the backseat and waited for someone (there was no one there) to step out. After this imaginary person stepped out, he closed the door. Then he held the hand of this person and started walking towards the set. Except, we couldn't see who it was."
Adds the source, "But Chi Chi did. He said, 'Mummy aa gayi,' then got right up and walked towards his brother (and mother) and bent down and touched her feet. He asked his brother to leave and pulled up a chair for his mom." The actors on the set, and the unit kept a straight face, as he chatted to the empty chair next to him.
It was later learnt that Chi Chi was actually talking to his deceased mother (she passed away a couple of years ago). He kept talking for two hours, then summoned his brother and told him to "take mom home"!
Govinda has always been known to be close to his mom and their bond seems to have gone on beyond the grave as well. He even tells people who visit him at home about his mom being there in the same room.
