This year will literally be action packed for Bollywood divas — a host of actresses will be seen doing stunts in their films this year. While Koena Mitra has done some exciting underwater action in Karma, her ex-best friend Tanushree Dutta has jumped from great heights, boxed and done underwater stunts in her film Rama — The Saviour.
Koena, who had two professional teachers to guide her for the stunt, says, “The experience was scary. But when you face your fear and learn something unique, it feels great.”
Tanushree says that she will be pulling a Charlie’s Angels in the film. She says, “I got some injuries doing the stunts. I learnt everything, including Taekwondo training, in two weeks.”
Lara Dutta, who has also performed underwater stunts in Blue, says, “Akshay (Kumar) was the reason I even took on this film. Otherwise I didn’t even know how to swim and would have said no to it. But I am really proud that I grappled with sharks underwater.”
Dia Mirza, who has also dome some stunts in her film Acid Factory, had to train for one-and-a-half months to build biceps, and then work out strenuously for three months. “I did a lot of aerobics and special exercises to get a fit body. I want to show the world that even women can do stunts.” Nandana Sen, who is also doing her own stunts in the film Prince, injured herself while doing an action sequence recently.
